Article: Why U.S. Elite Supports SOC-F
Why U.S. Elite Supports SOC-F
I first met David Kramer in 2009. I was told David was âThe Manâ - the one responsible for spearheading the âtacticalâ (professional use) lines of Arcâteryx, Salomon and Suunto across the USA. One of the keys to DKâs success has been a deep understanding and connection with the end user. David became very close to the Special Operations Forces community, both professionally and personally. And being the family man, patriot and compassionate human being he is, David took this relationship one step further and found a way to give back to those who serve us.
I remember David telling us about the formation of the Special Operations Care Fund (SOC-F). How itâs all volunteer and 100% of donations are applied to the cause - zero overhead or expenses. Fast forward a couple years - he then came to an event we hosted and showed a short video about SOC-F. This video talked about their mission and reason for being, and showed a real life story about how SOC-F had helped a fallen warriorâs family...his name was âShadyâ and he was beloved in DEV and well beyond the SEAL Teams...there wasnât a dry eye in the room! Â

They provide programs that not only help the families in emergencies, but also provide long term support. Programs such as, âGold Star Kids Campâ, that assist kids in the mourning of their loved ones. In this program, they are partnered with a mentor who actually served with the familyâs loved one. This not only equips the child with a better understanding of their loved one, but it also provides the child with the tools to deal with life challenges -- while still being able to succeed in their studies and beyond. In addition, we support this organization because of the number of services they have provided to help SOC-F families in need. Â
In addition to these innovative and effective programs, one of our top brands Arc'teryx LEAF also partnered with SOC-F. They provided an amazing ice climbing experience in Montana to an outstanding group of veterans from the Special Operations community. You can check it out here. It's programs like these that make SOC-F such a worthwhile organization.Â
If you want to give a big thank you to those in the Special Operations community, one way is by visiting SOC-Fâs website where you can donate as little as $10 dollars a month, weekly or even a one-time payment. The Special Operations Care Fund is an all-volunteer run, philanthropic 501c3 supporting US Special Operations Forces (SOF)
Weâll sign-off with copy direct from SOC-F, that says it best:
