- Good lightweight boot, not very durable Review by Mike

Quality Price Value I've had these for six months now and on the whole, they're great. Incredibly comfortable, very light, and very supportive. The weight is the most amazing thing about them. It feels like you're wearing running shoes. My only real complaint is that they are not all that durable. After two days of bouldering and hiking in the Mojave, they started to show noticeable wear on the outer leather and on the tread. I expect a $200 pair of boots to last several years, and I'm worried that at this rate, these won't. Still, they're great for backpacking and every day wear.

Quality Price Value Salomon has done it again! I have used and abused my 4D's over the course of this Winter and I am following suit already this Spring. I went on a 5mile, mixed/rough terrain, excursion this Saturday and the 4D's made it all easier than a walk in central park. I threw on a 45lb pack but my feet never felt the weight. No comment on my back though! Although the 4D's are already constructed with waterproof Gore-Tex, I had on a pair of Seal Skinz over some Merino Wool socks because I knew I was going to be crossing a high river up over my knees. The 4D's pushed the water out pretty well and did not feel waterlogged after only a few dozen steps back on dry land. I love the solid feel they have and the way they cradle my entire foot. No hotspots at all. They lace up amazingly easy, and this is helpful for those moments when you think you have some down time but are totally wrong and need to move out! These things are comfortable but bombproof. A must have for all you doomsday preppers and zombie apocalypse peeps. In green or grey, they seize the day! -CMH
