These overboots are made of a durable, waterproof coated Cordura® fabric. Removable foam insulation provides warmth and dense foam insoles resist crushing from walking. An adjustable hook/loop opening allows easy on and off. Combine them with the Expedition Crocodiles® for complete protection.

Fitting Overboots:
• Invert the overboot's heel section
• With OR logo on outside of ankle, push boot toe to front of overboot
• Grab heel loop inside overboot and pull the heel section up
• Tighten internal strap
• Close hook/loop front closure and top snap
• Cinch top drawcord




Product Detail:

A shorter, lighter version of the OR Brooks Ranger Overboots, the Low can be used in conjunction with Expedition Crocodiles? to give the wearer a high degree of insulation while making the best use of gear already in the pack.

1000D Cordura/foam/packcloth boot covering

Packcloth lining aids in slipping the boot into the overboot and holds the foam insulation in place.

This sandwich of materials extends all the way around to the sole of the boot, completely enclosing the boot in a durable, warm covering. The Cordura also provides good grip on the snow for use as mukluks and camp booties.

At the front and rear, where the bails of a step-in crampon contact the boot, the foam can be cut to allow the bail to seat securely in the welt of the boot. The Cordura? shell of the gaiter can therefore be left intact.

The Cordura is thin and flexible enough that it can be held between the boot and crampon bail without interfering with the proper operation of the crampon.

1/2-inch Urethane open-cell foam

Use the soft, light Urethane foam when using step-in crampons. Since this attachment method does not compress the foam insulation, except at the contact points of the bails, there is no problem using an open cell foam.

Poron foam insole

Extremely crush resistant foam that can be walked on for years without being crushed.

Insulates the boot from the high conductivity of the crampon under foot.

Insulates the foot when used as camp footwear.

Can be removed to improve the fit of certain crampon/boot combinations.

Provides a cushioned base when used as a mukluk.

Inner pull loop at heel area

This small loop makes it easier to pull the gaiter on over the boot. It is bar tacked into place for extra durability.

1 1/2-inch wide hook/loop front closure extends to toe

Wide opening allows easy wrapping of gaiter around boot.

Very easy access to laces and/or buckles.

Can be manipulated with mittens.

Offset overlapping of the hook/loop can accommodate a wide selection of clothing layers.

Cinch-Strap at heel /ankle

This Cinch-Strap runs between the medial and lateral sides of the heel, right at the ankle, for added control of the gaiter.

When the Brooks Ranger Low Overboots are being worn as a mukluk, this strap pulls the foot firmly back into the heel so it fits snugly while walking.

Drawcord & cordlock top closure

Helps slow the escape of heat from the top.
